In the blog (above) we touched on recognizing the enemy when he attacks....but how should we respond? First, identify the MYTH (or lie) ...then take action!

MYTH - The "I deserve to be happy principle.” (I hate to bust your bubble but nowhere in the Bible does it say we deserve to be happy. )

So, how can we protect our marriage?

1. Pray for yourself and your spouse daily. Pray that God will keep you committed to your marriage.
2. Pray that God will help you love your spouse even when he is unlovable.
3. Flee from evil. The Bible talks about the devil in 1 Peter 5:8-9 as a roaring lion waiting to devour you. This means we don’t dance around temptation, we run from it as far as we can.
4. If you are currently being tempted, do everything to stay away from it.
5. Have an accountability partner who will pray with you and give you wise counsel. Ask them to hold you to God’s principles and words.
6. Pray that God will keep all temptation away from you.
7. Work on your marriage. Once you have children it is so easy to ignore your marriage. Make your marriage a priority.
8. Be willing to seek counseling for yourself and your marriage if it is in trouble.
9. Realize that Satan makes sin so attractive and he is the Father of lies. He will fill your head with nonsense in order to make you think you are doing right.
10. Trust that God can and will change your marriage. Also, learn the most important thing is realizing the only one who can meet all of your needs is God. You must trust in Him alone.

Yep...ADHD and dyslexia too! I used to hate that about myself....but not anymore!!!! I also used to have an aweful time keeping my house neat and clean (unlike my "born organized" friends) - - but not anymore....I found www.flylady.net and she changed my life!!!

Dear FlyLady and Kelly,

On this day, when I renew my spirit, I am reflecting on how the clutter in my mind used to keep me from flying. I found out that I have ADD when I was just past 50. I was not happy with that. Life seemed impossible to manage and I kept beating myself up for not having the focus to handle what was simple for the rest of the competent world. Not only that, I was a huge perfectionist. I had believed the lie that I wasn't OK if I didn't do everything perfectly, which of course led to procrastination. The problem was that I had believed lies and I really didn't fully understand my identity. Then a God breeze blew through my day. Let me tell you about it...

One day, before our newest grand-baby was born, I was struck by these words from God "I knit you..."

I looked over at the baby blanket draped over the child's wicker rocker in the corner of the room and started to think about how I felt while I was making it.

I LOVED knitting each stitch of this light purple blanket! I followed an elaborate plan that I had settled on, one that I had never made before - not one stitch was haphazard. Every inch of yarn passed through my fingers as I crafted it. I savored every minute of knitting it and deep satisfaction and pride filled me as I watched the beauty of the pattern develop in the yarn. And when it was complete I was absolutely thrilled. I thought, "I love this! I can't wait for everyone to see this beautiful gift that I've made!!!"

It took my breath away. This is how God feels as His fingers knit a life together in the quiet of the womb. He delights in His new creation, as he works the intricate pattern that He has never used before. When his plan is complete He thinks, "I love this child! I can't wait for everyone to see this beautiful gift that I've made!!!"

"Oh God, this is how you felt when you made me!" I whispered as tears quietly ran down my cheeks. I bowed my head and worshiped, adoring the one who could love so deeply and feeling the embrace of the Knitter.

Understanding that I was designed the way I am - on purpose - has made all the difference! I am free from trying to do life like everybody else. I am free to finally love myself and enjoy the adventure of discovering the way of learning and flying that fits how I have been patterned! Beautiful!
